    Sri Lanka:
The Sri Lanka batsmen had a good day in the previous match. Dilshan, Perera and the skipper Jayawardene carried out their roles to perfection. Though Kumar Sangakkara, Upul Tharanga and Dinesh Chandimal got off to starts, they failed to carry on but it won’t be a matter of concern because they have the quality to come good on any given day. They will most likely stick to the same opening pair comprising of Dilshan and Tharanga in this game also. Perera had a terrific day with the ball picking up a heap of wickets in the previous game. The other bowlers supported him really well with Nuwan Kulasekara and Lasith Malinga picking up a couple of wickets each, while Angelo Mathews and Ranganna Herath applied pressure with some economical bowling. So the Lankans would do well to retain the same bowling attack.
    Pakistan:
The competitive target in the previous game exposed the chinks in the Pakistani batting order. Azhar Ali was the lone bright spark in an otherwise dull batting scorecard. While the other batsmen failed too, it is safe to say that Younis Khan has been struggling for some time now. He is nowhere close to the force he once was and it’s high time the selectors gave him some ‘rest’. Asad Shafiq could be tried out in his place to inject some freshness into the lineup. Imran Farhat will most likely continue to remain out of action as the openers are doing a fine job at the moment. The bowlers had an off day as their balance was disrupted due to a thumb injury to Mohammad Sami. The spinners were economical as usual but the pacers leaked runs. Saeed Ajmal was used in the power plays to do the containing work after the batsmen had a good start. It will be more gainful to use him as a wicket-taking bowler in this game. Rahat Ali had a rather disappointing debut and it’s hard to see him getting another chance. Aizaz Cheema will be the favourite to take his spot unless Sami regains fitness. In any case, the bowlers would be itching to repair their reputation in this game.
