TEHRIK-e-Minhajul Quran (TMQ) held a rally from Nasir Bagh to Data Darbar on Sunday to condemn two suicide attacks on the shrine and the ongoing wave of terrorism in the country.
The participants of the “Azmat-e-Data” rally, led by TMQ Lahore ameer Irshad Tahir, were holding banners and placards and raising slogans against terrorists, federal and provincial governments and enemies of Islam.
Addressing the participants at Data Darbar, the TMQ leaders, namely Hafeezullah Haved, Rana Idris, Muhammad Hussain Azad, Mumtaz Siddiqui, Afzal Gujjar, Hafiz Ghulam Farid, Shahzad Khan Mustafavi, Prof Ramzan Ayubi, Dr Qashir Rafiq and Abdul Ghaffar, said that those who attacked a sacred place like Data Darbar were worse than beasts.
They held the rulers responsible for worsening law and order situation because they deployed all the security agencies for their own security leaving the masses at the mercy of terrorists and criminals. They demanded the government uproot terrorism and take action against those who were trying to fan sectarianism by terming the shrines centres of evil.
