Governor Dispatches 12 Trucks For Flood Affectees
GOVERNOR Punjab Salmaan Taseer dispatched 12 trucks of relief goods for flood affectees under his supervision from the Flood Relief Camp established by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) on Wednesday.
President PPP Lahore Asghar Gujjar, former President Lahore Haji Mian Aziz-ur-Rehman Chan and Political Advisor to Governor Punjab Malik Hafeez-ur-Rehman were also present.
Talking to media, governor stated that the PPP would dispatch 10 to 20 trucks to the affected areas on daily basis. The governor Punjab said in this calamity we were united and taking every possible step to help flood-hit people.
Governor said he wasn’t willing to make this occasion a political talk because this was the time when all political parties’ workers and civil society organisations were rendering their services collectively to sustain calamitous countrymen.

Replying to a question, governor said ‘I do not want to criticise anybody, as this is the moment to show unity’. Punjab government is certainly doing its best to provide relief to the flood affectees, he added.
To a question about President Asif Ali Zardari, governor said such tours were planned in advance and President had gone to see market access for country’s textile products. “The president is not there just for the sake of tourism. He is doing everything in country’s interest”, he stressed.
