Imran To Launch Drive Against Tax Evaders
PAKISTAN Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has said former President Pervez Musharraf can’t dare to return to Pakistan as long as Iftikhar Mohammed Chaudhry is the chief justice of Pakistan.
The PTI chief also announced the launch of a four-point agenda campaign against the politicians evading taxes and holding undisclosed assets in and outside the country.
Addressing a press conference, during which people from three different groups joined the PTI, on Sunday, Imran Khan stated Musharraf never supported a free judiciary in Pakistan and under the current circumstances when the country had a free judiciary, Musharraf wouldn’t muster courage to come back.
Imran Khan, unveiling his plan to launch movement against the plunderers of national wealth, announced that he would go to public to press the corrupt politicians who possessed undisclosed assets, foreign accounts, evaded taxes and had capital outside the country. Imran stated he would receive signatures from the public on this four-point agenda campaign which was meant to stress the corrupt elements to bring back the looted national wealth back to Pakistan.
He said it was mockery with the nation that leaders wearing wristwatch worth millions of rupees and staying in five star hotels in London were not paying the taxes whereas the nation, on the other hand was bearing all expenses and was made to pay the taxes. He said it was strange that an ordinary rickshaw pays more taxes than PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif who himself was living in a palatial residence.
To a question, he stressed Asif Ali Zardari to immediately end the ‘holiday trip’ to England, adding that spending millions or rupees on a PPP rally were regretful whereas this money could have been spent on flood relief activates.
Meanwhile, Ali Husnanin Shah, Hafeez Baloch, joint secretary of the PML-N Youth Force and Gulzar Mashhadi, a pioneer member of the PPP, announced joining the PTI besides reposing confidence in the leadership of Imran Khan.
