Lahore Police Working From Fajr To Taraveehs
LAHORE: In view of the current situation, field officers and officials of the Lahore police have to leave their respective police stations before fajr prayers to ensure the security of citizens. Talking to Daily Times, several station house officers said they were not only providing security to the people, but were also keeping a watchful eye on the activities of “anti-social elements”. “We have adopted strict measures in our respective areas to curb negative activities,” they said. A large number of police personnel have been deployed in the city in Ramazan to ensure effective security measures, which have been taken at all bus and wagon stands, trade and business centers and hotels as well as the entry and exit points of the city. South Cantt SHO Malik Raheel Amjad said they were performing their duty round the clock. “Our prime task is to provide foolproof security to mosque-goers from fajr until taraveehs,” he said. Separately, SP Mujahid directed his force members to strictly adhere to the security plan in the holy month. No less than 1,400 constables, 121 assistant sub-inspectors and sub-inspectors will perform their duty, besides patrolling on 53 vehicles and 90 motorcycles.
