Man Killed In Acid Attack
A TRADER of Misri Shah died in his house while his brother-in-law sustained injuries after some unidentified person/s threw acid on them on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Sheikh Naeem, a resident of Misri Shah. Police said Naeem and his brother-in-law Waris were sleeping in a room when some unidentified persons came there and threw acid on them.
Both sustained burns and were rushed to hospital where Naeem died while the condition of Waris was stated to be critical. Police have registered a case against unidentified culprit/s on the complaint of deceased’s cousin Sumandar Khan with no arrest till the filing of this report.
Two killed in accident: Two people died when their speeding car hit a wall near Khayaban-e-Iqbal Society on Tuesday.
The deceased were identified as 27-year-old Imran, a resident of Gujranwala, and 28-year-old Abdullah, a resident of Johar Town. Police said Imran along with his friends Abdullah, Umer and others was going to Raiwind in his car (LZW-3754) when it hit a wall near Shaukat Khanum Hospital1. They were rushed to hospital where Imran and Abdullah died.
Body found from river: The mutilated body of a 30-year-old unidentified man was found from river Ravi on Tuesday. Police investigators suspected that the man might have been murdered by some unidentified persons who later dumped the body in the river. Police shifted the body to city morgue for autopsy.
Two bodies found: A 20-year-old youth was found dead in mysterious circumstances in the jurisdiction of the Mozang police on Tuesday.
Police said the deceased, unidentified so far, was a drug addict and he died of drugs overuse. Locals spotted the body lying at Chuburgi Park and informed the police about it. Later, police shifted it to morgue.
Meanwhile, the body of a 15-year-old unidentified boy was found in the Gawal Mandi area. Police said the deceased was a drug addict and he was often seen in the area. Police made announcements in the area mosques but no one turned up to claim the body. Police shifted it to mortuary.
Prisoner dies: A Prisoner of Camp Jail died on Tuesday after a prolonged ailment, police said.
The deceased was identified as Irfan, 40, a resident of Raiwind. Police said the prisoner had been suffering from TB for the past few months and was under treatment in the jail hospital. On Tuesday, his condition went critical after which he was taken to the Services Hospital where the doctors pronounced him dead. Police handed over the body to his family.
