PML-N Rebuffs Altaf For Remarks
PML-N leader and spokesman for the Punjab government, Senator Pervaiz Rashid, has said that before issuing irresponsible statements against Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, MQM Quaid Altaf Hussain should not forget that he and his party have still to answer a number of questions and give explanation to the nation for dozens of tragic incidents which took place during Musharraf’s dictatorship.
In a statement here on Saturday, Pervaiz Rashid said that the issue of anti-media resolution in the Punjab Assembly had been resolved amicably and now the so-called well-wishers of journalists better be silent as there was a big question mark over their own role regarding the attacks on the offices of newspapers and magazines in Karachi and murders of renowned journalists.
Pervaiz Rashid said the PML-N had always been a flag-bearer of the freedom of press and the party and the journalists’ community had waged a joint struggle against dictatorship. He said the media and the PML-N faced atrocities of the cruel regime when the elements who were now pretending to be the champions of the cause of journalists were acting as only silent spectators.
