Rain Fails To Break Hot Spell
THE ongoing unscheduled loadshedding along with the muggy weather conditions has made the lives of citizens miserable while a middle-aged woman dies after she fails to face the heatwave on Sunday.
Isolated rain was observed in various city localities, which increased the humidity to 92 percent on Sunday morning while MET office predicted similar weather conditions for Monday (today).
People were seen sitting outside their dark homes in several localities on early Sunday. Heart patients, elderly people and children faced more difficulties than others. In Samanabad area, one Zainab Bibi (42), who was a heart patient, died after she failed to bear the long hours of loadshedding. Locals said electricity of the area was off at 4.00am and was restored at about 4.00pm. Locals said a large number of children were becoming ill due to the ongoing loadshedding.
On Sunday, maximum temperature recorded in the city was 35 C while minimum was 28 C. They said humidity in the morning was 92 percent and reduced to 68 percent till evening. Loadshedding for long hours was also observed in several city localities and residents appealed to the higher authorities to give them relief in this muggy weather.
