Snatched Car Seized
THE National Highways and Motorway Police, N-5 Central, claimed to have arrested two car snatchers of an inter-provincial gang near Jumber on the national highways.
The NH&MP wireless control received a message from Helpline 130 that two armed men snatched a car (LED-6914) from a person at gunpoint from Okara and sped away towards Lahore. The NH&MP wireless control flashed the massage to all patrolling mobiles. Patrolling Officers Abdul Salam and Muhammad Asgher spotted the car at Jumber and signaled the driver to stop it. The driver ignored the signal and enhanced its speed. However, the officers chased and managed to stop the car and arrest the culprits namely Yasin and Yousaf, residents of Okara. DIG/Zonal Commander Syed Ibne Hussain said that the accused and the car had been handed over to the local police. Meanwhile, patrolling officers of Beat 16 foiled an attempt of robbery in an air-conditioned bus after an exchange of heavy fire. In another incident, patrolling officers reunited three children namely Nazia 13, Azher, 9 and Tahir, 7, with their parents in Lahore and Jumber. NH&MP Inspector General Dr Wasim Kauser appreciated the patrolling officers.
