Verification Of Double Shah Documents Starts
THE National Accountability Bureau, Punjab, on Wednesday started scrutinising and verifying documents submitted by Syed Sibtul Hassan Gillani alias Double Shah as surety after acceptance of his application for plea bargain by an accountability court.
Earlier on Tuesday, an accountability court had accepted the plea bargain application of Syed Sibtul Hassan Gillani alias Double Shah and had directed the NAB to scrutinise and verify his documents.
Double Shah had swindled about Rs 5.41 billion from over 24,000 people by launching a Ponzi scheme, offering temptation of doubling money.
During the case proceedings, Double Shah, his brother Ziaul Hassan Gillani, his daughter Iffat Gillani, 15 accomplices and NAB investigation officer Allah Rakha had recorded their statements.
According to the plea bargain deed, Double Shah will submit 34 percent of total amount at instance and remaining amount will be submitted under three instalments of 22 pc each.
