Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is a professional Twenty20 cricket competition in Bangladesh. The first edition of the tournament began on February 10, 2012 with six franchises consisting of players from around the world.

BPL 2: Bangladesh Premier League 2013

The 2013 Bangladesh Premier League season, abbreviated as BPL 2 or BPL 2013, the second season of the Bangladesh Premier League created by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) in 2012. The tournament will begin on January 18th, 2013. The contest will be in seven teams, with the addition of the Riders of Rangpur.

Player auction:

The player auction was held on December 20, 2012. Shakib Al Hasan, the Bangladesh all-rounder  reached the highest price, going to U.S. $ 365,000. However, the amount was almost half of what Shahid Afridi, former Pakistan captain, was sold for Twenty20 when the tournament was launched in February 2012. Imran Nazir, Pakistani opener next ordered the higher price tag, go to the U.S. With about $ 280,000 behind the U.S. Afridi $ 275,000, while more than a dozen foreign players was more than $ 100,000.
