KU Offers Admission To Flood-hit Candidates Without Documents
KARACHI, A meeting of the Karachi University admission committee was held on Monday to discuss the admission policy for the year 2011.
It decided that admissions to the institution would commence as per of the previous year’s policy. However, in order to make the procedure less complicated, it was decided that the candidates seeking admission in the faculty of pharmacy would be allowed to submit an application on the same form for morning and evening classes. Separate forms would be issued for admission in morning and evening classes to those seeking admission in other KU departments.
The meeting also decided to extend the dates for admissions due to recent flood in the country. However, in order to give an equal opportunity to all admission seekers, provisional admissions would be given to the candidates coming from the flood-affected areas and not in possession of the required documents. Their admission would be confirmed only when they would be able to submit the required documents.
Meanwhile, a three member committee has been formed to facilitate the entire process of admission. The committee will provide guidance to students and parents on admissions in different disciplines.
A special security plan to ensure peaceful conduct of the admission procedures was also discussed at the meeting.
