Mirpur University to have Campus in Dadyal
MUZAFFARABAD: AJK President Raja Zulqarnain Khan on Tuesday agreed in principle to establish a campus of Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST) in Dadyal.
The suggestion was put before the president by Prof Dr Habib ur Rehman, who holds additional charge of vice chancellor MUST. The president is chancellor of the institution, established more than a year ago.
Dadyal is located along the Mangla reservoir and almost 80 per cent of its residents have one or more family members settled in the UK.
The VC told the president that the people of Dadyal had offered to provide a building they had built on self help basis for promotion of education and 100-kanal land adjacent to it to the varsity for the proposed campus. The building is currently under the use of education department.
Initially the departments of business administration, geology, and philosophy would be opened in Dadyal campus.
