Seth Rogen Engaged To Lauren Miller
Is there anything more entertaining than a famous comedian with absolutely nothing to promote? Yes. A possibly stoned celebrity with nothing to promote and a very forgiving fiancee.
Seth Rogen had the honor of being Conan O’Brien’s first guest on the series premiere of “Conan” — but unlike most talk show guests, Rogen wasn’t there to promote anything except his own general awesomeness.
Sure, he’ll star in “Green Hornet” on January 14 — but January is a million years from now in Hollywood time. We expect that when that time rolls around, Rogen will be put through the media ringer, doing the whole “who-me-an-action-star-nahhh-aw-shucks” routine over and over. For now, though, he just hit the stage to support his buddy Conan, drop a few S-bombs, and talk about important world issues, like pot and his fiancee’s nipples.
Yes, ladies and gentlemen, Seth Rogen is engaged. We know. Across the world, single ladies are crying and single guys are thinking, “That guy? What does that guy have that I don’t have?” The answer, for the record, is money. And an awesome sense of humor. And probably marijuana.
He’s looking pretty hot, too — you’d hardly believe he’s the guy from “Knocked Up.”
“I kind of got in shape a little bit,” he says when O’Brien brings up his general non-action-hero appearance. “If Matthew McConaughey looked like this he’d murder himself, I can tell you that. He would literally kill himself. But for me, this is pretty awesome, I’ve got to say.”
Rogen shared some details of his rather unconventional proposal to girlfriend Lauren Miller, a writer who has had bit parts in a handful of Rogen’s films, like “Superbad” and “Zack and Miri Make a Porno.” The couple has been together since 2004.
Rogen jokes that he had romantic plans for popping the question, but as soon as he bought her ring, he couldn’t keep it to himself. “Literally, I felt like someone had given me like a truckload of heroin to hold onto,” he says. “I felt like the feds were going to kick in my door at any second. I couldn’t have a conversation with my girlfriend. All I could think of was this ring. Like ‘Don’t say ‘Lord of the Rings!’ Don’t mention anything about a ring!”
He couldn’t contain himself anymore, so he went upstairs and decided to propose right that second.
“She was in our closet changing, and she was literally only in her underpants, and her boobs were out,” he confesses.
“I’d already kind of started, and I was like ‘Oh man, her boobs are out! That’s not part of the plan!’ I didn’t picture it like this, and I know she didn’t picture it like this. No little girl is like ‘It’ll happen in a closet with my t**s out.'”
Well, you never know. Some kids are weird.
Leave it to Rogen to do the gentlemanly thing in an awkward situation: “I figured the only appropriate thing was to place the ring on her nipple.”
While he was on the show, Rogen also talked about California’s overturning of Proposition 19, which — had it passed — would have made marijuana legal (and taxable) in California. Don’t worry, stoners, Rogen says to look on the bright side.
“Literally, anyone on earth can get a medical marijuana card,” he says. “I have a medical marijuana prescription personally. I went in, and they said, ‘What do you need it for?’ and I said, ‘I have a very specific ailment. It’s called I-ain’t-got-no-weed-on-me-right-now.’ That was how I worded it. And the lady said, ‘We actually have just the thing for that.'”
