‘Friends of Kashmir’ Protest Against IHK Killings
LAHORE: The Friends of Kashmir, an organisation struggling for the rights of people of Indian-held Kashmir (IHK), organised a peaceful protest demonstration in support of the fresh uprising in IHK and against the recent killings of innocent Kashmiris outside the Lahore Press Club on Monday.
The participants chanted slogans against India and its army, and demanded an immediate end to the illegitimate occupation and reign of terror in the state.
The demonstrators held placards in which the UN had been asked to play its role against ‘Indian-state terrorism’. The participants also questioned the government over its silence regarding the latest situation in IHK.
The Friends of Kashmir director expressed his anguish and anger over the use of brutal force against innocent Kashmiri people. He asked UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon to take notice of the human rights violations by the Indian armed forces in the state.
