Governor Woos Tajik Investment In Pakistan
Punjab Governor Salman Taseer said Saturday that the government would welcome Tajikistani investors in Pakistan.
According to handout issued here, while talking to the ambassador of Tajikistan, Zubaydullo Zubaydov, at the Governor’s House, the governor said that unique and rich culture of Punjab had marvelous traditions of love, peace and hospitality. He said the people of the province were very tolerant, affectionate and hated terrorism, adding that Pakistan was the best country for the foreign businessmen to come to and invest in.
He said the government had introduced business-friendly policies for the security of investors, adding that Tajikistan could also import quality textile products from Pakistan.
He asked the ambassador to come along with business community in order to explore the opportunities which would strengthen the bilateral relationship between the two countries. The governor also informed the ambassador about the success of military operation against terrorists, saying that Pakistani people were united against the terrorism.
The ambassador said that the world had misconception about the Pakistan and agreed with the governor that the people of Pakistan were not extremists. “They are moderate and loving,” e added.
He said there were a lot of opportunities for investors in Pakistan, appreciating vibrant democracy in the country.
He also invited the Punjab governor to visit Tajikistan which the latter accepted. During the meeting, matters of mutual cooperation between the two countries came under discussion.
