HRCP Condemns Sialkot Killings
LAHORE: The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) condemned on Saturday the public torture and murder of two brothers in Sialkot.
HRCP Chairwoman Asma Jehangir, in a statement, said the incident of publicly killing two young brothers in the presence of police officials is “condemnable” and reflects a very “bad” image of the country to the entire world. She said the arrest of police officials responsible for the act is “not enough” and a case should be lodged against them for clear violation of the law.
She said such incidents should be checked to maintain law and order in the country. “I believe the Supreme Court of Pakistan will take into consideration all aspects of the incident and deliver justice by punishing the accused and uphold justice,” Asma added. staff report
