Opposition walks out of senate against increase in petroleum prices
The opposition parties staged a symbolic walk out from the senate session against the recent increase in the petroleum prices as well as against the inflation whereas the coalition partners MQM and ANP also criticized the government’s decision, Dunya News reported on Monday.
JUI (F) Senator Ismael Balidi also participated in the walk out against the increase in prices. Speaking on the occasion, Federal Minister for Ports and Shipping Babar Khan Ghouri said that despite the fact that MQM is in coalition their party was not taken into confidence on the increase in the petroleum prices. Haji Adeel of ANP said that the increase would cause a significant rise in inflation that would affect the masses devastatingly.
Aggression was also witnessed between the members of MQM and ANP on the situation of Karachi. Senator Safdar Abbasi also criticized the government’s policies while fateha was offered for the ex-President Farooq Ahmed Khan Laghari (late).
