PPP Accuses PML-N Of Using Taliban Against It
THE PPP Punjab leaders have urged the PML-N leadership to avoid criticising the PPP government and put its own house in order.
In a joint statement issued on Monday, PPP Punjab leaders, including Finance Secretary Aurangzeb Burki and Labour Bureau Secretary Information Salim Mughal criticised the PML-N government for allegedly acquiring the services of ‘Taliban’ against the PPP.
They said PML-N spokesperson Siddiqul Farooque needed medical treatment over his statement that the president wanted to create divisions in Punjab. They added that rather than opening fronts against the PPP, the PML-N leadership should answer the nation about its own corruption scandals, including Hudaibia Paper Mills, Sasti Roti Scheme, Mehran Bank etc.
They said PML-N leaders Chaudhry Nisar, Rana Sana Ullah and Siddiq ul Farooq were pro-Taliban and they were becoming a threat to the democratic system. The PPP leaders also said the PML-N had a history of unlawful acts which included attack on the Supreme Court, curbs on media, formation of forward blocs.
They said that the entire country knew that it was none other than the PML-N leadership which ran away from the country after signing a deal with a dictator and preferred to live a comfortable life in Saudi Arabia.
On the other hand, the PPP leadership was known for its sacrifices for democracy, judiciary and federation, the PPP leaders said. They urged the N leadership to avoid mudslinging and focus on real issues, including law and order, inflation and other public grievances in Punjab which were rising with every passing day.
