Ingredients
  • Chickpeas ½ kg
  • (soaked overnight)
  • Red lentils ½ kg
  • Turmeric powder 1tsp
  • Potatoes(diced) 2
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • Roll strips for serving
  • Ingredients for green chutney:
  • Fresh coriander ½ bunch
  • Mint ½ bunch
  • Green chillies 6
  • Tamarind pulp ½ cup
  • Sugar 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Ingredients for garnishing:
  • Onions (chopped) ½ cup
  • Tomatoes ½ cup
  • Fresh coriander (chopped) ½ cup
  • Yogurt(beaten) 1 cup
  • Chaat masala as required
Instructions
  1. Blend oil Ingredients of special masala in blender. Blend separately all ingredients for chutney in a blender. Boil lentils, chickpeas, salt and turmeric in a pot until chickpeas become soft and lentils tender. When water is nearly dry, add potatoes and cook for 2 minutes. Heat oil in a work; place roll strip in sieve, press roll strip down with another sieve and immerse in work till fried golden; repeat process to make more crispy bowls. Put chickpeas in fried bowls.
  2. Sprinkle chaat masala, yogurt, chutney, onions, tomatoes, fresh coriander and special chaat masala and serve
